Our HISTORY
Founded in 2010 by Clay Conley alongside partners Piper Quinn and Sam Slattery, Ember Group began with a bold idea: bring a more adventurous, globally influenced approach to the traditionally classic dining scene of Palm Beach. That vision came to life with Buccan, a small-plates concept that quickly became the island’s most sought-after reservation and is widely credited with sparking a new era of dining in the destination. Buccan’s success laid the foundation for thoughtful expansion, with each new concept building on the group’s commitment to quality, creativity, and a distinct sense of place.
Over the years, Ember Group has grown into a dynamic portfolio of restaurants, including Imoto, a Japanese-inspired concept known for its sushi and shareable plates; Buccan Sandwich Shop, an elevated fast-casual favorite; and Grato, a neighborhood restaurant in West Palm Beach centered around wood-fired cooking and Italian-inspired cuisine. In 2020, the group also launched Buccan Provisions, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing food insecurity across South Florid- an initiative that continues to provide meaningful community impact through meal distribution and partnerships.
Now, with continued growth across Palm Beach County and expansion into new markets, including Coral Gables in 2026, Ember Group remains rooted in the same principles it was founded on: delivering exceptional dining experiences, fostering community, and pushing the boundaries of what hospitality can be. Today, the group’s restaurants, and Chef Conley’s leadership have earned national recognition, multiple James Beard Award nominations, a Michelin recognition, and a loyal following that continues to grow well beyond South Florida.
